U-M CENTER ON FINANCE, LAW & POLICY

PROJECT:
Managing Website Redesign and Relaunch
DETAILS:

The Proposition:

Manage the layout and redesign for the Center on Finance, Law & Policy (CFLP) website, a research center housed within the University of Michigan’s Ford School of Public Policy.

The Plan:

Take advantage of a system-wide Drupal upgrade to rebuild the CFLP website from the ground up. Use newly available components to create a more intuitive and user-centered website.

The Particulars:

CFLP’s site had been long overdue for a major refresh, and once the opportunity arrived, there was no shortage of suggestions for improvements. To turn them into an orderly, actionable punch list, I had the team determine primary user personas and rank issues based on relevance to those user types. We then conducted user tests to further identify priorities and pain points. For the redesign itself, I used Miro Board to build a dynamic sitemap and organized tasks for each page using Trello.
